Description
Precision Point PERMA-HAND™ Surgical Suture, 4/0, 18", PS-2 Needle is a sterile, nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of silk, a natural organic protein fiber. The raw silk material undergoes purification to eliminate natural waxes and gums, enhancing biocompatibility and reducing tissue reactivity. The suture is classified as nonabsorbable due to its prolonged tensile strength and extended presence in tissue.
The suture is coated with a refined wax formulation to improve handling characteristics and facilitate smooth passage through tissue. This coating reduces friction, enables precise suture placement, and enhances knot security. The braided configuration offers excellent pliability and tactile control, supporting consistent tying and minimal memory during surgical manipulation.
This configuration includes a PS-2 needle, a 3/8 circle precision reverse cutting needle crafted from stainless steel. It is designed to penetrate dense or fibrous tissue with minimal resistance and is widely used in procedures involving skin, mucosa, and other tough layers. The 18-inch suture length provides adequate working length for small to moderate incisions.
